Have you ever watched climbers like flies on a wall; and thought "I wish that was me!". Well, with KMS it could be. Our expert instructors can take you through the whole process from those first steps on rock through to being fully competent leaders taking your mates for a day out.
Whether it is a one day taster session or a full week of classic climbs, we can make your experience safe and enjoyable. Courses can be run in the Lake District, North Wales, the Peak District or Scotland, or elsewhere according to your needs.
So what would you like to do? You may want to be guided on a classic climb or learn the skills to climb yourself, there are a number of options with KMS.
Taster climbing and abseil sessions: If you've never tried climbing or abseiling then one of these is for you! Take those first steps on to the rock with one of our instructors. Minimum group size - three people on a per day basis.
Guided climbing: Climb with one of our instructors who will lead you on a route of your choice depending on your experience and ability. Minimum one person and maximum of two people per instructor on a per day basis. Single-pitch or Multi-pitch climbing available.
Beginners Rock Climbing Course: Learn how to lead climb on a basic single pitch crag under the supervision of a KMS instructor. You'll learn how to belay, place gear whilst climbing, and set up a multi-point anchor to bring up that second. The course will look at all aspects of ropework and the different types of gear for those placements and effective extension of runners. You'll also be shown how to set up an abseil. On a per day basis, two people per instructor.
Advanced Rock Climbing Course: So you've already climbed at a number of single pitch venues and want to move on to something longer. KMS instructors can teach you all of the appropriate techniques for multi-pitch climbing including stance management and double rope technique. These courses are run on a per day basis, two people per instructor.
