Open Canoeing
Also known as Canadian Canoeing or Open Boating, this activity can be done on many of the areas lakes and rivers, but we can also arrange canoe expeditions in other parts of the UK.
You can choose to have a half day session or go for a full day out and journey from one end of a lake to the other taking in points of interest and visiting islands along the way.
As part of your day out you will be shown the basic skills of how to handle a Canadian Canoe and what to do if you are unlucky enough to capsize or fall out of your boat. You will also be shown all sorts of fun things that you can do in a Canadian. KMS also provides guided river trips but in order to come on one of these you must have attended one of our basic flat water (lake) skills sessions first and have demonstrated competence in handling one of these craft.
KMS can find you suitable venues in the Lake District and open canoeing is ideal as part of a package of day activities for groups, stag/hen parties or individuals.
